Is She This Morphic? - 2025

A memory. A mirror. A release. This collection is a deeply personal exploration of body dysmorphia, a lifelong echo of distorted reflections and relentless comparison. From a young age, the designer felt trapped in a body that never felt like their own. Drawing from the hidden elegance of 1920s shapers and lingerie, garments designed to sculpt, conceal, and transform, each piece speaks to the quiet rituals of self-sculpting, the obsession with control, and the yearning for perfection. As the layers are gradually peeled away, they reveal the raw, unshapen truth beneath: the body the designer kept trying to hide. These garments are embodiments of emotion. They carry the weight of how large the designer believed they were, the burden of constant self-surveillance. Every silhouette, every constriction, every exaggerated form becomes a physical manifestation of internal noise. The scale of the pieces communicates not how the body was, but how it was perceived through the lens of distortion. Echoing the imagined excess they were convinced clung to them, this is not just a body of work, but a body in conflict.
