Iftikhar Kanawati

Class of 2025
Tripoli, Lebanon
January, 2002

Iftikhar is a fashion designer and textile artist whose work blends storytelling with material experimentation. Her practice explores emotion, memory, and identity through fabric manipulation, pattern drafting, and garment construction. Fashion, for her, is about crafting garments rooted in her vision while fostering a connection with those who wear them.

She has collaborated with brands including Emergency Room, Super Yaya, and Bazaza, and has taken part in international showcases such as Kilomètre Paris and Creative x Basel. From custom looks for artists to large-scale production projects, each piece reflects a balance of concept, craft, and raw expression. Coming from an artistic background, she is especially drawn to the design development process, from mood board creation and fabric experimentation to the final touches that bring a garment to life.

With a focus on sustainability and handwork, Iftikhar experiments with dye techniques, upcycling, and textile treatments to create garments that carry both intention and raw expression. She is eager to explore creative collaborations, material-driven projects, and opportunities that challenge form and narrative in fashion.
