Sarah Hermez is the founder of Creative Space Beirut, the first free fashion school that remodeled Beirut's educational offer and design scene.

Through her pioneering proposal, she addresses traditional charges of elitism in fashion and design and thereby challenges our shared approach to the creative industries.

Sarah will be joining us on Thursday May 9th to discuss her vision and path journey which led her to design an original model of education and an alternative relationship to creation.

Creative Space Beirut Exhibition 2018

Creative Space Beirut has the pleasure to invite you to our annual exhibition on Thursday December 13 at our studios in Beirut Souks, Gold Souks at 6 pm.

The current student collections, that were previewed during last weeks' fashion show, will be displayed and sold alongside our alumni collections and our in-house brands - Second St, Csb ready to wear and Roni Helou,
as well as our friend Nour Hage.

Proceeds from the sales will support the free design school.

Throughout the month of January and February, the public is invited to explore at leisure our talented students’ hard work and the results of free, progressive creative design education and to engage with the students and staff.

This collection was designed and produced exclusively for Santiago by Creative Space Beirut alumni Roni Helou, Hazem Kais, Ahmed Amer, Rola Mezher, and Aline Seukunian, and current students Ibrahim Fakhrelddine and Amir Al Kasm. The collaboration came to life through Santiago’s enthusiasm for Creative Space Beirut’s mission of free design education and the talent of its students.

Opening of the Spaces: Khan Al Joukh

From the concept of the Khan, a place of exchange and trade, Khan Al Joukh is an initiative by Solidere where young designers and craftsmen meet to create an alternative experience in Beirut Souks.

The launch will see the opening of spaces dedicated to fashion, textile and creative concepts.

Beirut Design Week: Creative Space Open House

As part of Beirut Design Week 2017, we will welcome the public into our studio in an open house. Attendees are invited to sip and nibble as they browse the students’ works in progress, learn about our alternative curriculum, and explore the creative design process through a tactile display of the students’ sketchbooks and projects.

Attendees will also have first dibs on the Summer 2017 collection of csb ready to wear, our in house brand of versatile one size fits most pieces made from quality fabric.

Our sister brand, SECOND st will be selling playful shirts from its Summer 2017 collection.

Both brands support Creative Space Beirut’s free educational program, so you can shop in good conscience!

Graduate Exhibition 2016

We are delighted to invite you to our Graduate Exhibiton 2016, which will be held at Dar El Nimer for Arts and Culture. This year is particularly special as we are showcasing the individual thesis collections of our first graduating class. The work of the first and second year students will also be presented. You are invited to explore the culmination of our school’s five years in operation, our talented students’ hard work, and the results of free, alternative design education. The student pieces will be available for sale, and all proceeds generated will be re-invested into the program.

Please note that the Fashion Show on November 30 has limited seating and is by formal invitation only.

The static exhibition will launch on Thursday at 6pm with drinks and music, and will be open for two days only, so make sure to mark your calenders!

Creative Space Beirut is a free school for fashion design providing quality creative education to talented youth who lack the resources to pursue a degree at increasingly expensive institutions. The innovative school aims to promote equal opportunity into the creative sector and make the design world accessible to those with vision, flair and the driving impulse to create. Creative Space Beirut was founded in June 2011 by Parsons the New School for Design graduate, Sarah Hermez, and her former professor, seasoned designer Caroline Simonelli.

Dar El-Nimer for Arts and Culture is an independent non-profit art foundation founded by art collector Rami El Nimer.

It is an interactive, easily accessible cultural space dedicated to historical, modern and contemporary cultural productions from Palestine, the Levant and beyond
