We live in a world where unregulated economies and rising inequality have allowed for the normalization of exploitation and structural violence across the spectrums of life.

Structures must emerge to provide sanctuary for the overlooked majorities whose potential has been repressed. They must provide resources, infrastructures, and productions that substitute the faculties of innately self-interested programs of controlling bodies, such as corrupt corporations, governments, and institutions.

CREATIVE SPACE BEIRUT SOCIAL ENTERPRISES exists and continues to grow within an environment that is practically void of political, economic, ecological, and social welfare. It is precisely this context that warrants the most innovation, and the greatest leaps in design practices.

Lebanon is suffering a massive demoralization and evacuation of talent from the country, and the brave minority still driven and rooted in it’s soils must be empowered.

By merging a critical, conscious, and radically inclusive pedagogical meta-structure with various businesses and initiatives, CSB-SE generates designs and designers that can play integral roles in developing a unique, specialized course of evolution in their environment, leading to enlightened, thriving iterations of daily life and the human experience.

CREATIVE SPACE BEIRUT SOCIAL ENTERPRISE provides structures and resources for the innovation of progressive design practices in the region.

Through its school of design, fashion label, and online retail platform, CSB-SE intertwines structures of knowledge and liberal academics with real-world practices.

CSB-SE advocates an emancipated future, where the gaps of prejudice and inequality are closed through conscious labor, by way of design. It forges a path for the new citizens that will emerge to build this future by providing them with the tools to self-actualize and prosper.

The versatile environment supports the development of design thinking and design praxis through a robust, tightly knit, network of students, teachers, and residents.

Through critical, dialogical, and experiential approaches to design learning, as well as an extensive alumni support program, the CSB-SD community engineers thriving iterations of the designer and citizen of the future.

CSB-SD shares it’s campus and is positively integrated with the various businesses and initiatives of the CSB SOCIAL ENTERPRISE. This ensures intimate exposure and dynamic cross-pollination between students and high-stakes working environments, by providing internships, field-work, collaborations, and capsule projects.

The central, ever-evolving, CSB Collection is a trend-transcendent thesis on the relationship between the sublime and the functional. Archetypal designs are defined in essence while being constantly re-interpreted and expressed by members of the collective.

Disillusionment with the reigning pathos of the fashion industry, has led CSB to become a playing grounds for critical approaches to design, communication, and representation.

CSB-WORLD is the e-commerce platform of CSB. In addition to the CSB Collection, the platform features a dynamic rotation of capsule collections highlighting student and external collaborations.

CREATIVE SPACE BEIRUT - PUBLIC WORKS
(CSB-PW)

CSB PUBLIC WORKS seeks essential humanitarian gaps in Lebanon that can be filled through skills relating to design and material fabrication, and tackles them through hybrid teams of CSB-SD students and teachers, as well as enterprise employees.

In response to the rise of Covid-19 and the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment for medical staff in hospitals in Lebanon, CSB-SE, in partnership with UNICEF Lebanon, converted their facilities into a 100% safe working space to produce protective gear over the duration of a one month project. The process saw the distribution of 5000 protective gear to hospitals free of charge.
