Ibrahim Fakhereldeen 3rd Year / Class of 2018
Divergent
This collection draws on the different effects that rural and ubran environments have on the psyche. This is depicted in the use of modern, urban details on traditional cuts and silhouettes. The material work explores aspects of urban and rural lifestyles through the use of layered handmade tassels, and bedazzled silicon formations. The structuring speaks for the imposing architecture in an urban environment. A vibrant orange color runs through the collection, representing the spark of creativity that thrives throughout, in both rural and urban spaces, transgressing the classic cuts, structures and boundaries.
