Najah Raya 1st Year / Class of 2019

An ancient utopia that once reveled in the blessings of the Gods, the island of Atlantis was a powerhouse of prosperity and wealth. After falling out of favor with the deities, it was submerged into the ocean. This powerful myth of luxury, greed and punishment is the inspiration for this collection. The legendary architecture of the Atlantians is simulated in a geometric patchwork of cool, oceanic shades; the famous talent of the Atlantian virtuosos with hand painted patterns, and the wealth of the society with stitches of gold threads. The garments are finished with an over- layer of black tulle - an ode to the eventual obscurity of the ancient civilization.
