Ibrahim Fakhereldeen 2nd Year / Class of 2018
Two-Faced
The inspiration for this collection is drawn from deep within the convulsions of the brain, the endless layers of personality, and the double-edged identity of character. It confronts the subtle moments when a mood shifts - from elation to numbness, from ecstasy to serenity, from joy to sorrow. This fragility and fickleness of emotion is translat- ed through the designs; the smooth with the textured, the draped with the flat, the bold with the delicate, and the black with white. The feeble balance of our emotions is represented in chiffon. Each piece is signed in embroidery with two interlaced faces, the collection’s totem.
