Surrealism
Inspired by surrealism - a 20th century, avant-garde shift in art and literature which sought to release the creative potential of the unconscious mind - the surrealism project is a collaborative reinterpretation of the elements synonymous with the movement. Recognised for its juxtaposition of contrasting images, as well as falling in line with the style of artists Dali and Picasso, surrealism encouraged people to explore their inner thoughts and turn dream-like ideas into an abstract reality. The students sought to achieve an unexpected, yet somewhat whimsical line-up of pieces that did exactly this.
